Low-pressure system to bring rain and strong winds to East Fjords in Iceland
A new low-pressure system is approaching following a quiet weekend. It will bring rain across the country tomorrow, with a cold northeast breeze or moderate winds expected. Significant rainfall is anticipated in the East Fjords during the afternoon, accompanied by strong winds in the Southeast, prompting a yellow weather warning. Travel by vehicles susceptible to high winds is inadvisable in those regions, although winds are expected to decrease by tomorrow evening.
Throughout the western parts of the country, dry conditions will persist until late in the day when rain is also expected to arrive. Temperatures will range from 8 to 15 degrees Celsius.
On Tuesday, the low-pressure system will weaken and move northwest over the country. This will lead to variable winds, with light breezes or calm periods interspersed with occasional rain. Temperatures will remain between 8 to 13 degrees Celsius, with the possibility of reaching nearly 19 degrees in the Northeastern and Eastern regions where conditions are most favorable.
