Fire breaks out in car in Kópavogur residential neighbourhood

A fire broke out in a car in a residential neighbourhood in Kópavogur on Wednesday evening, mbl.is reported. A fire engine had arrived at the scene and firefighting operations were under way, according to Lárus Steindór Björnsson, a duty officer with the capital-area fire service.

The incident occurred on Fífuhvammsvegur. It was not immediately known whether nearby houses or vehicles were at risk.
