Two bears hit by train in Keuruu

Two bears were hit by a train in Keuruu, a town in Central Finland, on Wednesday evening, Yle reported, citing the Central Finland Police Department.

The locomotive driver saw three bears crossing the tracks near Suojärventie road. Two of the bears were hit by the train.

Large-game assistance personnel were at the scene, police told the Finnish News Agency STT before midnight.

The train was a railbus travelling towards Seinäjoki. Police did not provide further details or say whether the bears were alive.
