Finland’s first F-35 jets reportedly head towards Finland

Finland’s first Lockheed Martin F-35A fighter jets are reportedly on a transfer flight towards Finland, Yle reports, citing aviation publication Lentoposti.

According to Lentoposti, three of Finland’s new fighters flew from Fort Worth to the Azores on Tuesday with support from aerial refuelling aircraft. Three Belgian F-35s were also part of the flight.

The Finnish Air Force has not confirmed the report to Yle. It says it will comment only after the aircraft have arrived in Finland.

The Air Force will present the new Joint Fighter aircraft in Rovaniemi on October 1.
