Mountain sleet forecast as winds reach 18 m/s

Mountain sleet is forecast across Iceland today, with westerly and northwesterly winds reaching 10 to 18 metres per second, mbl.is reports, citing the Icelandic Meteorological Office.

Winds will be much lighter in western parts of the country. Rain is expected in the north, with sleet in mountainous areas and occasional showers elsewhere.

Precipitation will gradually ease in the north, while winds will decrease in the east this evening. Temperatures will range from 4 to 12C, with the mildest conditions in the south.
