Truck breakdown closes Eysturoy Tunnel entrance

The Eysturoy Tunnel is temporarily closed on the Hvítanes side after a truck broke down near a roundabout, KVF reported. Traffic cannot currently enter the tunnel from Streymoy.

The tunnel remains accessible from Strendur and Saltnes. Police said the truck must be moved, but the operation will take some time because other large vehicles are needed to assist.

It is not yet clear how long the tunnel will remain closed. Police said they would provide further information later.
