Court gives man 10 years for shooting at Hells Angels clubhouse

A 24-year-old man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for taking part in a shooting at a former Hells Angels clubhouse in central Randers, DR reported. Randers District Court handed down the sentence on Thursday.

The shooting took place during the night of January 23, 2025, when at least three rounds were fired from an AK-47 automatic rifle at the clubhouse in a residential neighbourhood.

The court doubled the five-year sentence under Denmark’s gang legislation because it found that the man had acted on behalf of the Loyal To Familia gang and intended to intensify a conflict with Hells Angels.

The shooting happened in a public place near a school and a daycare centre. No one was injured, which prosecutor Dorthe Lysgaard of the East Jutland Police prosecution service said was because the incident took place at night.

The man admitted taking part in the shooting but denied having ties to Loyal To Familia and denied that the incident was intended to start a gang conflict. He has appealed the sentence, seeking a reduction.

Two other men have also been convicted in the case. They received sentences of six and a half years and seven years, which were reduced because they confessed.

All three men have been banned from staying in Randers and certain parts of Copenhagen. They have also been prohibited from contacting other people linked to Loyal To Familia. Two more people have been charged in connection with the case.
