Reykjavik is lively today as the Pride celebrations reach their peak with a festive parade starting at 2:00 PM from Hallgrímskirkja. The parade will traverse iconic streets including Skólavörðustígur, Bankastræti, and Lækjargata, and will conclude in Hljómskálagarður, where a special program awaits attendees.

The outdoor concert in Hljómskálagarður is scheduled from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM, introducing performers such as Bashar Murad, Ugla Stefanía Kristjönudóttir Jónsdóttir, and several others. The President of Iceland, Halla Tómasdóttir, will deliver a special speech during the festivities.

To accommodate the celebrations, roads in the city center will be closed from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Public transport alterations have been implemented, and updated information can be found on the Strætó website. Moreover, residents and visitors are encouraged to use parking garages in the city center for their private vehicles.

The Pride celebrations will wrap up tomorrow evening with a closing party at Iðnó, offering an opportunity for attendees to relax, dance, and celebrate the spirit of equality and inclusion in a festive environment. Further accessibility details and the complete schedule are available on the Pride event’s official website.
