Ministers tour new emergency assessment department

Prime Minister Kristrún Frostadóttir and Health Minister Alma Möller toured a new emergency assessment department during a visit to Landspítali, Iceland’s national hospital, on Monday, mbl.is reports.

The department is scheduled to open this autumn and will treat patients with acute medical illnesses who require more extensive assessment, tests and treatment after arriving at the emergency department or following a referral, according to a post on the hospital’s Facebook page.

The ministers were accompanied by Runólfur Pálsson, Landspítali’s chief executive.
