Fake police caller tries to scam Faroese people

Kringvarp Føroya reports that police are warning people in the Faroe Islands about a caller posing as a police officer and attempting to obtain money.

The Danish-speaking caller claims to have the bank account number of the person being contacted and asks for information.

Police say the caller is not a genuine officer but is trying to defraud people. Rúni Vesturklett, a duty supervisor at the police station in Tórshavn, discusses the warning in an interview with KVF.
