Witness delays second day of Höfðatorg trial

The second day of the main hearing in the Höfðatorg case was delayed on Wednesday after a witness could not find Reykjavík District Court in the city centre, mbl.is reported. About 30 minutes had passed since proceedings were scheduled to resume.

The hearing began on Tuesday, when the three defendants gave evidence in court. Kareem M. M. Abufarhah and Mohamed Sayidali Ahmed attended in person, while Qossay Ali Yahya Alsadi gave evidence via video link from Jordan.

The three men are charged with attempted murder over an attack in a car park beneath Höfðatorg during the early hours of March 17. They deny the charges.

According to the indictment, Kareem is accused of driving a Land Rover at the victim at high speed. Qossay is accused of repeatedly hitting the man with an implement, while Mohamed is accused of stabbing him in the buttock with a stabbing weapon.
