Kate Sanderson has returned to the Faroe Islands after serving as ambassador at the Faroese mission in London, KVF reports. It is not yet clear whether she will be replaced.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Fisheries confirmed that Sanderson’s term as ambassador in London has ended. Foreign and Fisheries Minister Bárður á Steig Nielsen said no temporary replacement had been appointed.

“No replacement has been appointed, and Kate will temporarily carry out the role from the Faroe Islands,” he said in written comments to KVF.

The future of the Faroese mission in London is therefore unclear. Nielsen was unavailable for an interview with KVF on Monday.
