Wet road sends SUV across Ring Road into barrier

A sport utility vehicle crossed the Ring Road and hit a barrier after entering the highway from Víkurskarðsvegur, mbl.is reports. The road was wet when the incident occurred in northern Iceland earlier Friday.

Two people were in the vehicle, but neither was injured, according to a duty officer with the Northeast Iceland Police. An ambulance was sent to the scene but was turned back.

The vehicle sustained considerable damage but remained roadworthy.
