IKEA cuts prices on more than 1,000 products

IKEA will introduce lower prices on more than 1,000 products from Thursday, mbl.is reports. The reductions will be as much as 30 per cent and will include popular product lines such as BESTÅ, KALLAX, KIVIK and 365+.

In a statement, IKEA said the cuts were intended to strengthen its policy of offering quality products at prices that as many people as possible can afford. The company also said they were a response to a challenging economic environment and aimed at supporting household finances.

IKEA said inflation had risen recently and uncertainty remained over collective wage agreements. The company’s management and employees hope the lower prices will help provide greater stability for Icelandic households.

More information about the products affected will be available on IKEA’s website and at the company’s store in Kauptún from Thursday.
