Reform Committee expects to issue more recommendations

Finn Danberg, the new chair of the Reform Committee, expects it to issue more recommendations during the current parliamentary term, KVF reports.

Danberg said the political system also appears to agree that reforms are needed in several areas. However, there may be disagreement over which reforms should be implemented.

Once the committee has prepared its recommendations, they will be submitted to a political follow-up group made up of the leaders of the political parties and all members of the Finance Committee. The political system will then decide which recommendations to adopt.

Danberg held a management position at Eik Banki when the bank collapsed 16 years ago. He said he is looking ahead and will bring all his life experience, including his experience at Eik Banki, to his new role.

He does not know when the committee will issue its first recommendation, but expects it to produce several during the current parliamentary term.

The Reform Committee currently consists of Finn Danberg, chair; Marita Rasmussen, director of Havstovan; Óluva Klettskarð, a teacher at Miðnám á Kambsdali; Heri á Rógvi, director of Lóðri; Suni Justinussen, chief executive of Magn; and Hjørdis Gaard Lailudóttir, director of Movera.
