Haakon VIII swears oath as Norway’s new king

Norway’s King Haakon VIII will swear an oath of allegiance before the Storting in Oslo on Tuesday, SVT reports. The new king is also expected to give a speech.

In accordance with the constitution, Haakon will make the following pledge:

“I promise and swear to govern the Kingdom of Norway in accordance with its constitution and laws, so help me God, the almighty and all-knowing.”
