Faroe Islands allocate 4,000 tonnes for fishing trials

The Faroe Islands have allocated an additional 4,000 tonnes of blue whiting for commercial fishing trials, Kringvarp Føroya reports.

The quota may be fished in Faroese waters, Icelandic waters and the NEAFC regulatory area.

Applications must reach the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Fisheries by noon on September 25. They must outline the purpose of the trial, its timetable and budget, as well as the fishing vessel and gear to be used.

Applicants must place particular emphasis on development and innovation.
