Good lingonberry harvest expected across Finland

A good lingonberry harvest is expected this year, Yle reports.

According to the Natural Resources Institute Finland’s harvest forecast, the lingonberry crop has not been harmed by the rainy summer. Pollination has succeeded better than average across much of the country.

The berries have also ripened well. More than four-fifths of the unripe lingonberries are expected to become suitable for picking this year, and the picking season will continue well into autumn.

Lingonberries are most plentiful in bright and relatively dry forest terrain. The bilberry harvest has also been good this year.
