Former Finnish Ambassador Jari Vilén repays €38,000 in unjustified allowances

Former Finnish Ambassador to Canada, Jari Vilén, has repaid unjustified spousal and child allowances he received from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to reports from MTV News. The total amount he has returned is nearly €38,000. These allowances were awarded for family members, despite the fact that his family did not reside in Canada on a regular basis. MTV states that these payments were made to Vilén during his tenure as the head of the Finnish representation in Ottawa, from September 2023 to May 2024.
