Yle reports that Finland’s African swine fever infection zone is expanding to six municipalities after the disease was detected in a dead wild boar found in Hirvikoski, Pyhtää.

The expanded zone will cover the municipalities of Kotka, Hamina and Pyhtää in full. It will also include parts of the city of Loviisa and the municipalities of Lapinjärvi and Kouvola.

The Finnish Food Authority said on Friday that tests had confirmed African swine fever in the wild boar.
