Sexlinien says penis size is its most asked question

Sex and relationships advice service Sexlinien says questions about penis size are the most common from young people. DR reports that the service has answered questions about gender, sex and the body since 1992.

“The most frequently asked question on Sexlinien is: Is my penis big enough?” said Majbritt Berlau, secretary general of Sex & Samfund, on the P1 Morgen programme.

She said the question reflects a broader concern behind many enquiries: whether the person asking is normal or like everyone else. Many, particularly boys, do not share these intimate questions with anyone, she said.

Is my penis big enough?

How should I have sex?

Could I be pregnant?

I am in love, but unsure whether he or she feels the same. What should I do?

My partner wants to have sex more or less often than I do. What should I do?

More questions about consent and pornography

Berlau said the questions have changed very little since Sexlinien began in 1992, although there are now significantly more questions about consent. The growing presence of pornography on young people’s phones can also be seen in the enquiries, she said, including more niche questions.

Sex & Samfund has now relaunched Sexlinien to better match the platforms young people use. Berlau said the service has been redesigned to resemble the social media platforms they navigate in everyday life.

For reference, the average erect penis in Europe is 13.12 centimetres, according to a large study of more than 15,000 penises from around the world.
