Faroe Islands exported more than they imported

The Faroe Islands exported goods worth 14.3 billion kroner in the year from July 2025 to June 2026, compared with imports worth 11.8 billion kroner, Kringvarp Føroya reports.
Exports increased by 1.4 billion kroner from the previous 12-month period, according to Statistics Faroe Islands.
Fish product exports rose by just over 1.4 billion kroner, or 11.8 per cent. Exports to China increased significantly, while exports to Russia fell by 244 million kroner.
Imports rose by 1.2 billion kroner, or 11.8 per cent, compared with the previous period. Food imports increased by almost 374 million kroner, or 16 per cent.
The value of imports of fuel and other oil products rose by 48 million kroner, or 3.1 per cent, although the volume declined.
Fuel prices fluctuated during the period, reaching 4.20 kroner per litre in February, 8.50 kroner in April and 6.20 kroner in June.
Imports from the European Union have increased since summer 2024. Among countries outside the EU, imports from Iceland recorded the largest increase.
