New nursing home opens in Höfn

A new nursing home was inaugurated at Skjólgarður in Höfn, Hornafjörður, on Friday, mbl.is reports. The building will significantly improve residents’ facilities and marks a step forward in developing nursing services in the region.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Housing and the Ministry of Health, Education and Children’s Minister Inga Sæland, Social Affairs and Housing Minister Ragnar Þór Ingólfsson and Health Minister Alma Möller attended the inauguration.

The building is said to meet all requirements for nursing homes. Residents will have private spaces, and the facilities are described as being of the highest standard.

Renovations to the older part of the nursing home are planned next.
