It has been four and a half months since a triple homicide in the small Norwegian village of Ål, where Ingunn (53), Sander (22), and Signe (18) were shot while they slept. Authorities believe they were killed by a father and husband who later took his own life. Recent results from weapon examinations conducted by Kripos confirm which firearm was used in the killings. Police attorney Ann Iren Svane Mathiassen from the South-East police district stated that it has also been confirmed that a silencer was not employed.

As the investigation has been completed, the police are considering the possibility of releasing more information in the future. When asked whether they have gained any insights into the motive behind the murders, Mathiassen replied that they have formed a theory based on the answers provided by the investigation.

Before summer, toxicology reports related to the autopsies of the deceased indicated that they were not under the influence of any sedatives at the time of their deaths. Evidence at the scene shows that the victims were asleep when they were shot. The police are aware that one of the victims was using earplugs, which could explain why this person did not wake up during the shooting. Mathiassen is still awaiting the final autopsy reports, which may provide further answers to the investigation.
