Two freezer trawlers operate near Faroe Islands, one in Icelandic waters and the other returning from Greenland

Two freezer trawlers are currently near the Faroe Islands, one operating in the Icelandic waters and the other heading home from Greenland. These vessels are catching cod, ling, and haddock.

A total of six freezer trawlers are docked in the port, alongside both fresh fish trawlers.

Despite strong currents, conditions are expected to improve as the week progresses.

Fishing activity is limited this week due to changeable weather conditions, which the fish market does not anticipate will support significant outings.

One fresh fish trawler is currently catching black halibut, another is targeting kingfish, while a vessel is operating in Icelandic waters to catch cod.

A freezer trawler is near the Faroe Islands, and another is fishing in East Greenland, both targeting black halibut.

Regarding part-time trawlers, three pairs are reported to be catching haddock and other white fish, indicating a reasonable level of fishing activity. Additionally, two pairs are targeting salmon.

There are also some trawlers currently at sea. One is fishing primarily for cod, haddock, and some flatfish in the northern regions. Two trawlers are on their way to port, mainly catching flatfish and cod, with a respectable yield.

Two net fishing vessels are catching black halibut, while two others are targeting monkfish, although their catch has been modest.
