A survey by Suomen Yrittäjät, reported by Yle, found that a good workplace atmosphere and team spirit contribute more to job satisfaction than pay in Finland.
Workplaces with fewer than 10 employees recorded the strongest results. Respondents at these workplaces were most likely to agree with five positive statements about wellbeing at work, including that their job could be combined with family life.
“Things work particularly well in smaller workplaces,” Niko Nurmela, an expert at Suomen Yrittäjät, said in a statement. He added that results had improved across all measured areas compared with last year.
About 1,000 Finnish people aged 18 to 69 who were in working life responded to the survey in May.
