Norway’s Media Authority has issued a formal warning to TV 2 for broadcasting advertisements until 06:00 on public holidays during Easter, when the channel was required to remain ad-free.

The authority confirmed it had investigated the broadcaster’s output over Easter and found it in breach of regulations that prohibit advertising on Good Friday, Easter Day, Whit Monday, and Christmas Day.

TV 2 responded that it has long operated on a broadcast day running from 06:00 to 06:00 the following day without prior objection from the authority.
