Trains replaced by buses on multiple routes due to delayed track work

Passengers planning train travel in Denmark today should expect delays and bus replacements on several routes after severe weather disrupted scheduled track maintenance.

Danish State Railways (DSB) announced on its website that bus replacements will operate between Ringsted and Slagelse, with train service not expected to resume before 14:00 at the earliest. Additional buses will run between Odense and Fredericia throughout the day.

“We are working to secure bus replacements between Ringsted and Slagelse via Sorø,” DSB stated in an update posted at 01:50. “The number of buses has not yet been confirmed, but we will update the Journey Planner with confirmed services.”

The disruptions stem from delayed track work by Banedanmark on the Ringsted–Slagelse line, originally affected by storms on Sunday evening. Between Slagelse and Odense, hourly train service will continue, DSB said.

DSB also confirmed that international trains between Copenhagen and Hamburg, Berlin, and Prague are being replaced by buses today.

Passengers are advised to check DSB’s website and the Journey Planner for real-time updates. Travelers with Orange and Orange Free tickets valid for today’s affected services can cancel or postpone travel without fees, and unused seat reservations for Monday and Tuesday can be refunded. Tickets valid on July 20–21 can also be used on July 22. Passengers delayed by more than 60 minutes may use their ticket for return travel and request a refund.
