Thirteen existing wind turbines in Húsahaga will be dismantled and replaced with three larger, more efficient models by 2028, according to a proposal from Vindfelagið í Húsahaga, a subsidiary of energy company SEV.

The Faroese Environmental Agency has not yet ruled on the application, and a final decision is not expected for several months. Bogi Bech Jensen, chair of Vindfelagið, said that if approved, the new turbines—better suited to Faroese weather and environmental conditions—will be operational in 2028.
