Serious traffic accident reported on Krýsuvíkurvegur

A serious traffic accident occurred overnight on Krýsuvíkurvegur road near Bláfjallavegur road, mbl.is reports.

Sævar Guðmundsson, chief superintendent with the police in the capital region, confirmed the accident to mbl.is. Iceland’s national broadcaster RÚV was the first to report it.

Guðmundsson said he could not comment further. The police are expected to issue a statement about the incident.
