Four fatal traffic accidents in Norway on Saturday

Four people died in separate traffic accidents across Norway on Saturday, Dagbladet reports.

In Grong, Trøndelag, a motorcyclist died after colliding with a car at 14:09. Emergency services, including an air ambulance, responded to the scene. The road reopened at 19:46, and the victim’s next of kin have been notified.

A bus and a passenger car collided head-on near a gas station in Skien at 16:13, killing the car’s driver. Police stated the bus driver had veered into oncoming traffic. The victim’s next of kin, abroad at the time, were notified via Kripos systems by 21:00. The bus driver has been charged. Norway’s Accident Investigation Board and the Norwegian Public Roads Administration’s accident team are investigating.

In Indre Østfold, a motorcyclist died after veering off the road near Eidsberg at around 19:00. Emergency services performed life-saving first aid until 20:10, when the victim was declared dead. No witnesses saw the accident itself; a passing driver alerted authorities. The Roads Administration’s accident team and police forensic technicians are examining the scene.

In Alver, Nordhordland, a person died in a traffic accident reported at 19:45. By 21:41, next of kin had been notified. Police interviewed several people near the scene, but the circumstances remain unclear.
