Rail services between Ringsted and Fredericia are being replaced by buses from Saturday afternoon until Sunday evening, 19 July, due to extensive track work, Danish railway operator DSB announced on its website.

The work affects sections including the Great Belt Bridge, between Slagelse and Ringsted, and parts of western Funen. Around 150 replacement buses will operate, with some stopping at all stations between Ringsted and Nyborg, while others run direct between Ringsted and Fredericia.

DSB information chief Tony Bispeskov said the work was scheduled for a period with fewer passengers, as summer travel is typically lighter. He advised travellers to check the Rejseplanen app, as other services may also run to adjusted timetables.

Bicycles are not permitted on the replacement buses, though foldable strollers and wheelchairs can be accommodated in the luggage area. Passengers requiring non-folding wheelchairs are advised to contact DSB’s accessibility service.

DSB is coordinating with infrastructure managers Banedanmark and Sund & Bælt, which are carrying out the track renewal as part of a larger project to improve stability and future journey smoothness. Bispeskov stated there are currently no indications the work will be extended.
