Wolves reduce deer damage to farmer’s crops
Deer destroyed more than 100,000 kroner worth of potato crops on Viggo Conradsen’s farm each year, the Agerbæk grower near Varde told Danish broadcaster DR.
Now, with wolves present in the area, Conradsen and other local farmers report fewer deer raiding their fields, trampling and eating potatoes and maize. Familielandbruget Sydvest, a regional farming association, confirms multiple growers are seeing the same effect.
