Organisers of the Musik i Lejet festival have applied to Gribskov Municipality for permission to host events throughout the summer, reports DR.
The festival, held on a large camping site in Vejby, has requested approval for concerts, children’s shows, corporate parties, and events with up to 12,500 attendees, in addition to its main festival, which draws around 20,000 people. The application also includes requests for unrestricted events such as livestock shows and circuses.
In a statement to DR, Musik i Lejet said the proposal aims to “create life in a place that needs a new future, done responsibly, in dialogue, and with respect for neighbours, nature, and the local area.”
Gribskov’s mayor, Trine Egetved (C), expressed cautious support, noting some activities may already be permitted under existing camping regulations. However, she doubted all requests would be approved. The municipality has not yet processed the application politically, and public hearings and meetings will follow.
Several neighbours have voiced scepticism about the plans, according to Berlingske.
