Storm with lightning and hail hits Denmark after record heat

Denmark recorded over 1,100 lightning strikes overnight as severe thunderstorms swept the country, public broadcaster DR reports.

The storms followed a day when temperatures reached 37°C, the highest ever recorded in Denmark.

DR received numerous videos from the public capturing the intense lightning and storm conditions.
