Kolding politician criticises DSB after two-hour platform wait
A Kolding city councillor has criticised Denmark’s national rail operator after being left stranded on a platform for two hours without clear information.
Birgitte Munk Grunnet, Social Democrats group leader in Kolding, took to Facebook to voice frustration after her return train from Copenhagen failed to arrive, leaving her and hundreds of other passengers waiting in the heat at the capital’s central station.
“It’s better to get a time. Or to be told it’ll be an hour. Then you can find alternatives,” she said, arguing that unreliable information discourages public transport use.
Grunnet, who advocates for improved rail funding, said she raises the issue with party colleagues in parliament whenever possible. “I bring it up in my party every chance I get,” she said.
DSB information chief Tony Bispeskov acknowledged the incident, attributing it to technical issues. He estimated 700–800 passengers were affected on the popular service and said the operator would review how to improve passenger communication.
Bispeskov noted that platform displays and speakers fall under Banedanmark’s responsibility, while DSB handles in-train information, but the two bodies coordinate closely.
