A 61-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man have been remanded in custody for four weeks on suspicion of possessing 11.2 kilograms of explosives and around 20 rounds of ammunition, Danish broadcaster DR reports.
The explosives, described as malleable and suitable for precision blasting, underwater demolition, or mining, were discovered at an address near Bellahøjparken in the Brønshøj district of Copenhagen.
Both suspects denied the charges during a preliminary court hearing at Frederiksberg District Court, held behind closed doors. They refused to comment in court, and the evidence against them has not been disclosed.
The judge ordered their detention over concerns they could obstruct the investigation if released. Authorities believe the pair were not acting alone and that the possession of explosives and ammunition was part of a prearranged agreement with unidentified accomplices.
The two will remain in custody until at least 17 July. It is unclear whether they have appealed the decision.
