A 14-year-old boy in Møre og Romsdal was pressured by an unknown alias into making a bomb threat last July, Dagbladet reports. The case, now dropped due to insufficient information on the perpetrator, is linked to the extreme online sect “The Com.”

When the boy refused, the perpetrator demanded he undress, kneel, and apologize on video—threatening to send a bomb threat in his name if he failed to comply. The boy was given a three-hour deadline, later extended to 24 hours. Communication, conducted in English via Discord and Telegram, began friendly but escalated, with the perpetrator also seizing control of the boy’s Roblox account.

Police confirmed the case was dropped due to lack of suspect details but emphasized they believed the victim’s account. Nationally, 29 related cases have been shelved, while 45 remain active across eight police districts, with two under prosecution review.

Kripos, Norway’s national criminal investigation service, has previously described “The Com” as a sect that coerces vulnerable youth into extreme acts—self-harm, animal torture, and even murder—often livestreamed in chat groups. The average victim age in Norwegian cases is 14.9, while perpetrators average 16.3.

The sect operates through three pillars: CyberCom (hacking, doxxing, swatting), SextortionCom (sexual abuse, self-harm), and OfflineCom (physical crimes like vandalism and assault).
