Drone evaluation to be presented to Danish parties
A long-awaited review of drone incidents over Denmark’s military installations will be presented to political parties in the defence agreement group on Friday, according to multiple sources cited by DR.
The parties will have access to a classified version of the Defence Ministry’s evaluation in person at the ministry on Friday morning. A non-classified summary will later be released to the public.
DR previously reported parts of the evaluation through a freedom of information request, revealing a draft dated 16 February 2026. It acknowledged that some reports of drone sightings were of poor quality and that there were “isolated attempts to down drones.”
DR also reported that in one incident at Borris camp, the military fired multiple shots into the air while a passenger plane was flying in the same area.
The evaluation covers only cases where the military observed drones over its facilities or provided assistance when incidents crossed into Denmark in late September last year.
Police are also expected to soon disclose findings from their investigation into possible drones over Copenhagen Airport on 22 September.
Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen confirmed last week that drones had indeed been present over Denmark, stating: “When we say there have been drones over Denmark, then of course there have been drones over Denmark.”
