Sodexo acquires Oulu-based Antell’s restaurant operations

Sodexo has signed a share purchase agreement to acquire the restaurant business of Oulu-based Antell, the French multinational announced on Tuesday.
The deal, which remains subject to competition authority approval, strengthens Sodexo’s position in Finland’s food service market and supports the company’s growth strategy. The purchase price has not been disclosed.
Founded in Oulu in 1880, Antell is a family-owned business providing lunch and staff restaurant services. It employs 270 people and operates around 60 restaurants across Finland.
Sodexo, established in France in 1966, operates in 43 countries and employs nearly 430,000 people worldwide. In Finland, the company runs approximately 200 restaurants, primarily known for lunch and student dining services. Since autumn 2025, Sodexo has offered a 69-cent student lunch at the University of Oulu.
