Strong winds expected across much of Iceland tonight
Strong winds are expected across much of Iceland tonight, mbl.is reports, as a low-pressure system brings southwesterly winds and rain to many parts of the country. The east is expected to remain mostly dry, with temperatures between 6 and 11C.
Winds will gradually ease on Sunday, and rainfall will diminish. Most of the north is expected to stay dry by Sunday evening, with temperatures near freezing, while light rain is possible in the south.
Monday is forecast to be calmer, with sunny spells in many places. Some rain may fall along the eastern, southeastern and northwestern coasts. Temperatures are expected to reach 0 to 5C, with colder conditions in the evening.
