Waiting times for child and adolescent psychiatry rise again

Waiting times for assessments in child and adolescent psychiatry continue to worsen, according to the latest figures from the Danish Health Data Authority.

The average wait for an assessment reached 170 days in the most recent count, up from 167 days in the last quarter of 2025.

A new patient rights rule took effect on 1 January, guaranteeing that under-18s must begin assessment within 30 days of referral and complete assessment and start treatment within 60 days. However, only 22 percent of referred patients were assessed within the 60-day target.
