The Faroe Islands registered 904 new cars in the first five months of 2026, up 35 from the same period last year, according to figures reported by Faroese public broadcaster KVF.

The 4% increase marks a turnaround after a slower start to the year, when fewer new vehicles were registered in the first three months compared to 2025.

Used car imports have also seen a modest rise, with 133 vehicles brought in during the same period—two more than last year, a 1.5% increase.
