Foxtrot leader charged in Norway over violent attacks
Ali Namdar, a 21-year-old alleged leader of the Foxtrot criminal network, has been formally charged in Norway for ordering violent attacks, including a grenade assault in central Oslo last year, Norway’s National Criminal Investigation Service (Kripos) announced Thursday.
Namdar is suspected of orchestrating multiple acts of violence, including shootings in Sarpsborg and the Høybråten district of Oslo, according to Oslo police prosecutor Henrik Rådal. He is also charged with attempted conspiracy to commit murder or grievous bodily harm.
“He is believed to hold a central role in Foxtrot and is considered strategically vital to the network, particularly in organizing violent operations,” said Kripos prosecutor Anja Perminow Stenersen.
Listed among Europol’s most-wanted, Namdar faces nearly 20 separate charges in Sweden. Norwegian authorities declined to disclose his suspected current location, citing ongoing investigative concerns.
Police allege Namdar used fake online profiles to lure victims before attacks. “We believe he has acted as a key figure behind the scenes within an organized criminal group,” Rådal told public broadcaster NRK, which first reported the charges.
