Mobile phone mast toppled in Janakkala as police investigate vandalism

A mobile phone mast was toppled in Janakkala during the night between Saturday and Sunday. One of the guy wires supporting the structure was found to be severed. The police announced on Tuesday that they are investigating the incident not only as an act of severe vandalism but also as a serious disruption to telecommunications. Currently, authorities suspect that the mast was intentionally brought down.

According to the police, the roughly 70-meter-tall mast’s guy wires were manipulated in such a way that led to its collapse. The police stated that they will provide an update on the investigation no earlier than Friday.
