As of late May, 193 individuals from Ukraine have received temporary residence permits in the Faroe Islands. The majority of them are women, totaling 110, while there are 27 men and 56 children. Additionally, 13 individuals received negative responses regarding their residence permits.

On May 22, a report indicated that 230 individuals from Ukraine had applied for temporary residence permits in the Faroe Islands. This information was included in a report presented by the Prime Minister to the Parliament yesterday.

In the spring, Parliament approved an increase in the quota for temporary residence permits for Ukrainian refugees from 200 to 250 permits.

Overall, the reception of Ukrainian refugees has been smooth, according to the government. However, this effort requires significant resources from public authorities, municipalities, and the Red Cross.

The Immigration Office has dedicated substantial efforts to find housing for the refugees, as this has proven challenging. Reception centers are at full capacity, resulting in refugees staying longer than the typical five days initially intended.

To address this issue, the Immigration Office has leased temporary housing to accommodate refugees for a longer duration while searching for permanent housing solutions.
