Faroese prison director resigns

The director of Vørn prison has resigned, Faroese public broadcaster KVF reported Monday.

Óli Hans Olsen will step down from his post but remain available through the coming month to assist with ongoing matters. Jóhan Simonsen, a department head at the facility, will serve as acting director in the interim.

A search for a permanent replacement will begin after the summer break.
