The Faroese national church is recruiting an assistant priest to support the dean, with the role also serving as acting parish priest in the Nes deanery, covering the Nes and Gøta congregations, public broadcaster KVF reports.

The fixed-term, full-time position runs from 1 August 2026 to 31 May 2027. Responsibilities include assisting the dean and conducting services in the two parishes, each with fewer than 400 residents.

Since June 2024, Tummas Lykke Kannuberg has held the temporary assistant priest role in the Nes deanery. On 1 August, he will take up a permanent position as priest in the East Norðstreymoy deanery, based in Hvalvík.
