Faroese marketing association relaunches amid AI concerns

The Faroese marketing association has been revived after a seven-year hiatus, driven in part by growing concerns over the impact of AI tools on the industry, national broadcaster KVF reports.

Eiler Fagraklett, the newly appointed chair, said many professionals—including copywriters, designers, and graphic artists—are struggling to adapt to AI-driven workflows. “People in this field aren’t learning to use these tools effectively for their own benefit,” he told KVF.

The association, which originally operated from 2013 to 2019, aims to serve as a forum for networking, skill-sharing, and professional debate. Henny á Líknargøtu, a board member, noted that AI has lowered the barrier for non-specialists to produce marketing content, reducing overall quality. “The standard of output has declined because these tools make it too easy for anyone to create materials,” she said.

Fagraklett and á Líknargøtu will discuss AI’s influence on marketing and the association’s plans in a KVF broadcast on Friday.
