The weather in Finland will warm steadily from Friday, offering favorable conditions for this weekend’s school graduation celebrations, according to Yle’s meteorologist Matti Huutonen.

Wind warnings remain in effect for parts of the country on Wednesday and are expected to expand into Thursday. Conditions will begin to calm on Friday, with temperatures rising nationwide. By Saturday, temperatures will range from 11°C to 20°C across the country, while Sunday will see highs of 20–22°C in southern and central regions, around 15°C in Kainuu, North Ostrobothnia, and Koillismaa, and about 10°C in Lapland.

Saturday is forecast to be mostly clear, with no rain expected. While the high-pressure system moving in from the west will bring warmer air, no heatwave is anticipated.

Yle’s Kesäfestivaali festival in Vantaa will also benefit from the improving weather. Friday’s events include the Yle Radio Suomi summer concert and a Leikitään Pikku Kakkosta concert, followed by the Viki & Köpi Show and YleXPop on Saturday, where temperatures may reach 20°C under sunny skies. Sunday’s program, featuring the Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Unohtumattomat choir, will mark Yle’s 100th anniversary.

Updated forecasts are available on Yle’s weather service.
